Event Details

For the first time in three years–the Franconia Area Heritage Council will host its mid-winter skating party.  The event will take place between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm, with hot chocolates, cookies and cheer served up by treasurer Phil Krill and other board members and volunteers. In addition to the warmth of Phil’s hot chocolate, skaters will also be able to relax and wiggle their toes in the newly constructed warming hut adjacent to the Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center behind the Town Hall and Abbie Greenleaf Library.

As we’ve done in the past, we’re partnering with the Abbie Greenleaf Library who will be holding a book sale between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm that day.  So, come over on Saturday, get a book from the Library, go out for a twirl on the ice and celebrate Franconia’s distinction as the “Grandest Winter Wonderland You’ll Ever Visit” (source:  onlyinyourstate.com).  Ken MacGray writes “…if you’re a lover of being outside in winter surrounded by spectacular scenery, the tiny town of Franconia is one you should check out. “

It will be wonderful to be back together again and meet over shared history, natural beauty and experiences in the Franconia area.

The Franconia Heritage Museum is located at 533 Main Street and is open on Saturdays from 1-4 pm from Memorial Day through Columbus Day.
