Visit Bretton Woods, New Hampshire’s largest ski area with 464 acres of skiing and snowboarding on 63 trails and 35 glades! Ten lifts, including the Bretton Woods Skyway 8-Passenger Gondola and four high-speed quads, make your ride up the mountain almost as fun as the ride down. Cannon Mountain Ski Area is a state-owned ski resort located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in Franconia Notch State Park and features the highest summit in NH. Bretton Woods Nordic Center

Across the grounds of the historic Mount Washington Resort and the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, the Bretton Woods Nordic Center is one of the largest cross country ski areas on the East Coast. The 100 kilometer trail network crosses open fields, meanders through woods of spruce and fir, passes beaver ponds and mountain streams, and traverses open hardwood stands.

Come for classical and skate skiing as well as snowshoeing on trails prepared with our state-of-the-art grooming tools. Visit on-trail destinations including a new warming cabin on Porcupine Trail and the lift-served Mount Stickney Cabin, and check out our center’s upcoming races and events, including the annual Geschmossel, Mount Washington Cup and Bretton Woods Nordic Marathon! Franconia Village X-C Ski & Outdoor Recreation Center

Nestled in the heart of the White Mountains, the Franconia Village XC trails offer 25 miles of unparalleled scenic vistas amid a variety of beginner-to-expert trails on groomed and ungroomed terrain.

Take a loop around the airfield with a landscape view of the Kinsman Mountains, or weave through the trees and over rivers on the trails behind the Inn. You can even take our most popular trail, Middle Earth, right into town.

Loon Mountain Resort X-Country

Explore a serene network of nordic trails that parallel the Pemigewasset River and climb through through the forest along old logging roads. Whether you’re looking to get in a good workout—or just get away from it all – their cross-country network is the perfect place to explore the White Mountains. These trails are open to guests of Loon Moutain Resort as well as visitors to the area. 

These wide trails follow a network of historic logging roads and offer something for every level of cross-country skier—from gentle paths along snow-covered Pemigewasset River to more challenging trails that ascend the shoulder of Black Mountain. Trail map.

Tubing

Bretton Woods Nordic Center

Fly down our sculpted tubing run for a thrill ride perfect for the whole family. With packed powder made for speed you’ll want to attack the hill again and again. Laugh it up as you spin, glide and slide down our fun run. And the best part is – you don’t need any experience, special skills or lessons. Advance reservations through the Bretton Woods E-Store are required. No lift service available.

Loon Mountain
60 Loon Mountain Road, Lincoln, NH

Start at the top of Little Sister trail and slide down 250 vertical feet on nearly 1,000 feet of track. The Little Sister Double chairlift serves the snow tubing tracks both day and night. Also features a Tot-Tubing walk up hill for kids. Enjoy tubing day or night at the only lift-served snow tubing in the area. Snow tubing (and Tot Tubing) sessions are one hour in length, with 15 minutes between start times. Available from Mid-December to Mid-March.
