Member-owned Littleton Consumer Cooperative Society, Inc. strives to serve the North Country of New Hampshire and Northeast Kingdom of Vermont by providing a broad range of high quality food products, offered at a fair price, with outstanding service. The Co-op exists to serve its members, not to make a profit for a large corporation. While membership is not required to shop at our store, our member-owners help govern the Co-op by electing our Board of Directors annually and contributing in other ways – from suggesting items for the store to serving as volunteers on Co-op committees. Our members also help us maintain the Co-op’s mission of supporting local growers and producers, encouraging healthy life choices, and promoting environmental sustainability locally. The movement to bring a regional cooperative food store to Littleton began in early 2006. The initial informational meeting, called by Co-op President Jeffrey Wheeler and Vice President Michael Claflin, drew an enthusiastic crowd of more than 300 people from Littleton and surrounding towns in both New Hampshire and Vermont. The Littleton Food Co-op Store opened in May, 2009. Our 13,500 square-foot store is located at the intersection of Route 302 and Cottage Street, making it convenient to both Littleton’s...

My love of photography initially stemmed from a long involvement with oil painting. The creative working and re-working with oils to produce different results never ceased to amaze me. I've found that a digital darkroom has similarities to the magic of oils, and I enjoy painting with light as much as I did with a brush and canvas. I draw inspiration from my love of the expansive wilderness that we have here in New Hampshire. Waterfalls and craggy ridges are among my favorite subjects, especially those long forgotten by many and far off the beaten path. We believe “Food is Thy Medicine” and strive to grow healthy, non-GMO crops, without the use of pesticides. This year (2014) was our first growing season in many years. We have almost 12 acres in vegetable production. Crops ranged for six different types of lettuce to popcorn. Our main focus for the first year was the re-establishment of our farm stand and providing produce to our CSA members. The farm stand opened mid June and we began our Summer CSA at that time. We had a successful season and it was wonderful meeting our customers and discussing the farm with them. Over the course of the summer, we had over sixteen farm workers. The team worked really well together and performed many tasks such as seeding, weeding (a lot!), field prep, crop harvest, and operating the farm stand. For the 2015 season, we hope to expand our CSA membership significantly. We will have several CSA membership types to choose from and increase the flexibility of the CSA. We really enjoy this aspect of our farm and hope to grow it a lot. In addition, we plan to grow crops weekly for local area restaurants during the summer months. We will...
