The Sugar Hill Sampler is a unique experience - a gift shop and museum thoughtfully displayed in a colonial barn built by the owner's ancestors in the 1790's. Where wagons rolled in with tons of hay, and farm animals called home, has been sensitively modeled into 4,000 square feet of display and museum space framed by hand-hewn beams, old barn boards, and even some original flooring cut from the farm's forest in the 1800's. Visitors come from far and wide each year to browse, sample our homemade products, explore our museum and photo gallery full of area history and lore. The village icon is operated today by Jim Fadden and his son James with occasional other family members lending a hand when needed. A museum threads throughout the rooms, walls and shelves within the store displaying family, community and maple sugaring equipment and artifacts. This classic New Hampshire General Store is open all year round offering NH gifts and souvenirs, groceries, beverages and candy, along with Fadden's maple syrup- named the "Best Maple Syrup in NH" at the annual meeting of the NH Maple Producers Association in January, 2014 (a repeat award from 2008). A family museum and historic display of North Woodstock and maple sugaring antiques and artifacts wind throughout the store and special rooms. Tours of the state-of-the-art maple sugar production facility are available by appointment, hours may vary throughout the seasons.

We believe “Food is Thy Medicine” and strive to grow healthy, non-GMO crops, without the use of pesticides. This year (2014) was our first growing season in many years. We have almost 12 acres in vegetable production. Crops ranged for six different types of lettuce to popcorn. Our main focus for the first year was the re-establishment of our farm stand and providing produce to our CSA members. The farm stand opened mid June and we began our Summer CSA at that time. We had a successful season and it was wonderful meeting our customers and discussing the farm with them. Over the course of the summer, we had over sixteen farm workers. The team worked really well together and performed many tasks such as seeding, weeding (a lot!), field prep, crop harvest, and operating the farm stand. For the 2015 season, we hope to expand our CSA membership significantly. We will have several CSA membership types to choose from and increase the flexibility of the CSA. We really enjoy this aspect of our farm and hope to grow it a lot. In addition, we plan to grow crops weekly for local area restaurants during the summer months. We will...
One of the last true hardware stores still in existence as generations remember because generations have proudly owned and maintained this local hardware store. Situated on Main Street near other village amenities, the answers to immediate, long term or permanent needs are found easily on well supplied shelves, nooks and corners without walking down long aisles. Every turn is within earshot of the local employees for answers and suggestions just like it used to be- and still is here.
