Franconia Village X-C Ski Center

Nestled in the heart of the White Mountains, the Franconia Village XC trails offer 25 miles of unparalleled scenic vistas amid a variety of beginner-to-expert trails on groomed and ungroomed terrain. Take a loop around the airfield with a landscape view of the Kinsman Mountains, or weave through the trees and over rivers on the trails behind the Inn. You can even take our most popular trail, Middle Earth, right into town. Rental equipment and passes are available at our Cross-Country Ski Shop. Grooming information and trail conditions are listed above, but give us a call at 603-823-5542 if you have any questions. If you’re looking for classic cross-country skiing, you’ve come to the right place! Cannon Mountain Ski Area, Aerial Tramway & Franconia Notch State Park

The first passenger aerial tramway in North America began operation on this site in 1938. Almost 7 million passengers were carried to the top by the first tram. Tram II was completed in 1980, and today, you can take a scenic 7-minute ride in one of two enclosed cable cars to the 4,080-foot summit of Cannon Mountain and enjoy panoramic views of the distant valleys and mountains. Each tram car has a capacity of 80 persons and ascends 2,022 feet vertically over a horizontal distance of more than one mile. Walking trails to a summit observation platform leave from the tram station. A gift shop and cafeteria are located in the tram base station. Cannon Mountain Ski Area has 95 trails & glades for all ability levels and is recognized as one of the best values and overall experiences for ski areas in New Hampshire & New England. Cannon is the home of the New England Ski Museum, which is located near the base of the tramway. It is open daily from 10:00-4:00, and is on the same seasonal schedule as the tramway. Alpine Adventures, located in the beautiful White Mountains of NH, near the award-winning Whale’s Tale Waterpark, opened the first, longest, highest and fastest Zipline Canopy Tour in New England in 2006 and continues to lead the way in the outdoor adventure industry. The original Tree Top Canopy Tour was an instant hit and continues to be a favorite for families and first-time zippers. With 300 private acres in Woodstock, NH, it was no time before Alpine expanded by building the SkyRider and Super SkyRider Zipline Tours. Franconia Soaring Foundation

The Franconia Soaring Foundation (FSF) was established by the Franconia Soaring Association in 2016, with a mission of training and educating the public on the art of motorless flight, and preserving the Franconia Gliderport (airport identifier 1B5) for future generations. The Foundation continues the Association’s reputation as New Hampshire’s only soaring operation for over four decades. We are ideally located in Franconia, New Hampshire, at the foot of the White Mountains and Franconia Notch, where glider pilots can experience the best of thermal, ridge and wave soaring. Now open Open 9am-5pm Fri-Mon. Entrance to the Main Building is for guests with advance reservations only; they can not accept walk-ins. Reservations can only be made in advance online. There are no in-person ticket sales. Reservations must be made for a specific arrival time on a specific date. Entry is NOT guaranteed should you miss your arrival time. Reservation check-in is available in the Main Building – please follow one-way directional signage. Buy tickets here. Travel through steep-walled gorges and marvel at boulder caves formed thousands of years ago.  Enjoy spectacular views and intriguing history.  Don't miss this great adventure for kids and scenic wonder for adults.  Your exploration of Lost River can be as easy or as ambitious as you choose to make it.
