7PM: 30 Minute Discussion with The Crew of Research Vessel Sikuliaq: Join the crew of R/V Sikuliaq for a look into one of America’s premier scientific research vessels. Built for polar exploration and classified as an Ice Breaker, in the past year the Sikuliaq has operated above the arctic circle, in the Chukchi Sea, and as far south as the equator. Learn more about life aboard a research vessel, facilitating scientific endeavours in challenging environments, storms on the ocean, and the realities of living in close quarters with crew mates for long periods of time. Film screening and Q&A to follow

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou: Internationally famous oceanographer Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) and his crew, Team Zissou, set sail on an expedition to hunt down the mysterious, elusive, and possibly nonexistent Jaguar Shark that killed Zissou’s partner during the documentary filming of their latest adventure. They are joined on their voyage by a young airline co-pilot (Owen Wilson), a pregnant journalist (Cate Blanchett), and Zissou’s estranged wife (Anjelica Huston). Wes Anderson assembled an all-star cast that also includes Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Michael Gambon, Noah Taylor, Seu Jorge, and Bud Cort for this wildly original adventure-comedy. (2004)
