Appalachian Mountain Club – Outdoor Adventures and Mountain Lodging

At AMC, connecting you to the freedom and exhilaration of the outdoors is our calling. We offer lodging, trips, education, and dining for outdoor enthusiasts.

Whether you want to go with a guide, customize a trip, or set off on your own outdoor adventure, the AMC is a great resource in the Franconia Notch area.

In addition to programs and activities, AMC offers numerous lodging options for all types of adventurers. With easy access to our network of 8 high mountain huts and our premiere lodge, the Highland Center, located just a few miles down the road – our locations are the perfect spot to set up base camp to explore Franconia Notch and the surrounding White Mountains. Bonus: AMC huts and lodges feature home-cooked meals included with your stay. You will also have the opportunity to support our conservation advocacy and research, youth programming, and trail maintenance work as proceeds from programs and lodging contribute to these efforts.

Our Mission
Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club promotes the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of America’s Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.

We believe these resources have intrinsic worth and also provide recreational opportunities, spiritual renewal, and ecological and economic health for the region. Because successful conservation depends on active engagement with the outdoors, we encourage people to experience, learn about, and appreciate the natural world.
